Trefadder becomes the official prize provider for the Holmenkollen Ski Festival
Oslo, 11.03.2026
Trefadder is this year’s official prize provider for the Holmenkollen Ski Festival and will present a unique award to the top six athletes in each event during this year’s competition.
The prize consists of a custom-built birdhouse, with the winner’s name, placement, and event laser-engraved. The birdhouses will be installed near the trails in Holmenkollen, and their locations will be published on a dedicated website, allowing the public to visit them afterwards. In addition, Trefadder will protect 10 square meters of old-growth forest for each winner.
The initiative connects sporting achievement with engagement in nature, while highlighting the importance of preserving biodiversity in Norwegian forests.
– Holmenkollen represents some of the most iconic aspects of Norwegian outdoor life and winter sports. For us, it is the perfect arena to highlight the importance of protecting the nature we all use and cherish. By combining a handcrafted birdhouse with the protection of old-growth forest, we aim to give winners a prize that also gives back to nature, says Anders Kristiansen, CEO of Trefadder.
The Holmenkollen Ski Festival gathers tens of thousands of spectators in the forest each year and millions of TV viewers worldwide. The collaboration with Trefadder adds a new dimension to the event by linking sporting achievements to tangible nature-based initiatives.
–The Holmenkollen Ski Festival has a tradition spanning more than 100 years, where top-level sport has always been closely connected to nature experiences and the use of Nordmarka. We are therefore pleased to partner with Trefadder, which helps highlight biodiversity through the prizes awarded to this year’s winners, says Grete Ingeborg Nykkelmo, Managing Director of the Holmenkollen Ski Festival.
Trefadder will be present during the event in Holmenkollen, where the company also aims to raise awareness about the challenges facing nature and the importance of preserving old-growth forests in Norway.
